Silom is located in the heart of Bangkok, nestld between the Chao Phraya River and the green lung of Bangkok, the Lumpini Park. It’s easily connected via all modes of transportation.

The Silom district has been named after the one of the first roads of Bangkok, Silom Road. It was built in the 1860’s alongside a canal. Read the full history here.
As explained in the history of Silom, Si Lom means “windmill” in Thai. When the road that’s nowadays Silom Road was built, it was alongside a canal that had windmills to pump water onto the fertile farmland nearby.
